Erik Klein Wolterink ‘Kitchen Portraits’

July 22, 2012 | posted in Architecture, Art, Furniture, Photography | by | Leave a comment

Great series by documentary photographer Erik Klein Wolterink, showing the insides of Amsterdam kitchens. The works were made in commission of the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts and the City Archives. Very interesting to see the insides of the kitchen and the things stocked in cupboards, ovens and fridges, instead of the same old boring usual interior[...]

Love this great project, a new concept for a bridge, by Dutch-Belgian Ro&Ad architects. It’s situated at the West Brabantse Waterlinie and I’m sure Mozes would have loved this bridge. _

Remember this much praised design called ‘SLEEPBOX’..? Arch / Architecture & Design have now actually installed the first real life examples at Sheremetyevo International Airport, Moscow. The SLEEPBOX is a tiny, all in one space where you can rest, relax and work when you are traveling. It can be placed just about anywhere, but seems[...]

Garance Echazarreta ‘Archipel’

Great multi-functional piece of furniture by Garance Echazarreta, a French creative who graduated from Eindhoven Design Academy 2 years ago, and who is still living and working in the Netherlands. ‘Our position in a space acts on our emotions and on our thoughts. Living under high or low ceiling rooms, standing and sitting in a[...]

EVOL ‘Urban Stencil City’

August 2, 2011 | posted in Architecture, Art, Installations, Sculptures | by | Leave a comment

German street artist EVOL creates hyper realistic miniature buildings and cities in all sorts of places, by stenciling flat surfaces. The one shown here is made in a field near Hamburg as part of the upcoming MS Dockville music and art festival, and is presumably the best one so far. The installation took 8 days to[...]

OMA / AMO ‘Prada Men’s SS 2012 Runway’

June 26, 2011 | posted in Architecture, Design, Fashion, Furniture, Installations | by | Leave a comment

Prada’s ‘Men’s Spring / Summer 2012 Collection’ presentation has one of the best runways ever. The brilliant design is done by AMO, a partner office within OMA, and consists of 600 blue foam blocks arranged in a 1.5m by 1.5m grid, with the blocks intended for audience seating also functioning as edges for the various catwalk paths.
